Start where you are

It is happening now

Ride the wave

Ninety seconds of breathing, in this browser. An urge rises, crests and falls whether you act on it or not.

After a slip

One difficult evening does not erase weeks. What happened, how to stop the spiral, and how to carry on from here.

The one thing worth knowing

An urge is a wave. It rises, it crests, it falls.

It feels bigger than it is from the inside, and it arrives with a sense of emergency. But if you do not feed it, it peaks and begins to fall — usually inside ten to fifteen minutes. You do not have to crush it or obey it. Ninety seconds of slow breathing is long enough for the crest to pass.

Free, in this browser. Nothing is recorded.

The long view

Not a streak you keep. The way your days work now.

Nobody can say what day 438 brings that day 437 did not. What people do describe is a pattern — urges shorter than remembered, then rarer, then a gap opening between the urge and the act.

  1. Day 0

    Day zero

Starting is the whole job today. Nothing has to feel different yet.

  2. Day 14

    Two weeks

Urges are often less frequent by now, even if they haven't gone. Many people report a clearer head in the mornings.

  3. 3 months

    Ninety days

A commonly cited threshold — not magic, but long enough that the new routine is usually the default rather than the effort.

  4. 3 years

    Three years

Three years of Clear Mind days. This isn't a streak you're maintaining — it's simply the way your days work now.

These notes describe what people commonly report, not what will happen to you. Everyone's pattern is different, and none of this is medical advice.

The app

It cannot decide for you. It can make giving in slow.

The moment usually happens on a phone, so ClearMind lives there: a system filter and a private DNS layer across every browser and app, a dial counting your clear days, and a cool-down you chose while calm before anything switches off.

No app on iOS or Android can make anything impossible, and you should be wary of one that says it can. Friction, not a fortress.

Questions

The things people ask at midnight.

What does the ClearMind app actually do?

It blocks adult content in every browser and app on your phone — Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and the browser inside other apps — using a system-level content filter and a private DNS layer. It counts your clear days. And it makes turning protection off a deliberate eight-step flow with a cool-down you chose in advance, so an impulse usually passes before anything changes.

How the blocking works
How long does an urge last?

Shorter than it feels. Most urges rise, peak and fall within about ten to fifteen minutes if you do not feed them, and the crest is usually over inside two. People who time their urges almost always find they overestimated. The ninety-second breathing ritual is long enough for the crest to pass; the next ten minutes are for what remains.

Ride the wave — 90 seconds
I slipped last night. Have I lost everything?

No. One difficult evening does not erase weeks of progress, and the spiral that follows a slip — shame, “what is the point”, a binge — does more damage than the slip itself. Understand what happened, be honest about it without turning honesty into shame, and continue.

After a Slip
Is the blocker impossible to bypass?

No, and no honest app on iOS or Android can claim to be. What ClearMind does is layer several protections so that bypassing one does not bring the others down, notice when a layer is switched off and tell you, and make the deliberate route slow enough that an impulse usually passes first. Friction, not a fortress.

The four layers
